Who we are, what we do and why we do it
The UKDF encompasses a community of dance artists and exists as a platform for personal and collective discovery. We work to broaden dance aspirations and to empower the youth to achieve their goals. We build connections with, bridge the gaps between and advocate for the amateur and professional dance worlds, as well as the UK and European dance scenes. We celebrate all forms of dance and invest our extensive knowledge and understanding of the current dance industry into everything we do. The Federation provides high quality and industry - relevant workshops, competitions, judges, choreography and teachers which enable our participants to perform, choreograph, improve and build valuable, long - lasting networks.
We believe in driving our industry forwards, highlighting all of the fantastic dance schools around the UK and giving their teachers an environment in which to reflect, gain inspiration and refresh their practice. We believe in creating employable dance artists who will lead the way for innovation within our profession. We believe in guiding dancers from all backgrounds and circumstances towards a career that has longevity by instilling in them the value of safe practice and pure technique. We believe in celebrating those who dance simply for the joy of it and ensuring every individual conducts themselves from a place of passion. We believe in valuing the process of learning rather than the product, fostering one's creative voice, building an ethos of support, eradicating all sense of hierarchy within our field and allowing each dancer to feel seen and valued.
The UKDF provides a personal service conducted with heartfelt and honest intentions. We nurture tomorrow's talent.
