national Competition
What do I need to know?
Our National competition brings together dance schools from around the UK for two days of competing, judged by an industry - leading jury comprised of four judges representing each dance style, plus a referee. We offer awards, trophies and training opportunities and every dancer receives a diploma for taking part; every dancer is valued. Dancers from age twelve upwards can be eligible to qualify for the European finals to represent Team GB. European finalists will be in with a chance of winning scholarships and monetary prizes to put towards training. With over 30 years of running international competitions, the CND European Network that we are a part of is a leader in it's field.
Who can enter the competition?
Dancers from age 8 - 25 years old (on the 1st January of the competition year) can perform. Solos, duets and groups of all dance genres can enter into our amateur or vocational sections and dancers will be organised into categories. Renowned choreographers create the ballet, contemporary, jazz and hip-hop compulsory solo variations each year for each category up until the age of fourteen. It costs just £31 to access all set variations and these solo recordings also include notes, guidance and explanations from the choreographers. Students will need to choose which solo they will be competing with (as the age group of some categories overlap) and entries will be given a competition spot on a first come first served basis and will be capped once we reach capacity.
How can I take part?
All we require is for you to be able to provide proof of ID (including children) and to fill in the Enrolment form provided prior to the event. Unless you are not affiliated with a dance school, we ask that dance school directors enrol all of their dancers on their behalves. The form is quick and easy to complete and each entry is required to be registered with it's own form. Once we have received all entries from a dance school, an invoice will be sent out and your journey with the UKDF begins!
How much does it cost and where can I find more information?
Solos: £20 per entry
Duets: £15 per dancer
Groups: £10 per dancer
